Pamukkale is open year-round, but both the crowds and the light change significantly by season and even by time of day.

Time of day: Arriving right at opening or in the last couple of hours before closing is the single biggest factor in how enjoyable the visit feels — midday sees the heaviest tour bus traffic, especially in summer. Late afternoon light also tends to bring out the white of the terraces more dramatically than the flat light of midday.

Spring and fall (April–June, September–October): The most comfortable months temperature-wise, avoiding both summer's heat on the exposed, shadeless terraces and winter's cold. This is generally the best window for a visit.

Summer (July–August): Hot, and the white travertine surface reflects sunlight strongly, so sun protection matters more here than the temperature alone suggests.
