Hot air balloon rides typically launch just before sunrise, when the wind is calmest and the light is best for photos. Flights usually last about an hour and cover several kilometres, depending on the wind.

Most operators pick you up from your accommodation around 4:30-5:00 AM, and the whole experience — briefing, flight, and a small celebration afterward — takes about 3-4 hours in total.

Book at least a day in advance, ideally through a licensed local operator. Bring a light jacket even in summer, since it can be cool at altitude and early in the morning.

Flights are weather-dependent and can be cancelled or rescheduled on short notice due to wind, so it helps to build a buffer day into your trip if this is a must-do.
